My mouth puckers up into a tiny “oo” thrusting out my lips I blow sloftly
This is the French our sound which is in, cour, tour, Louraine, courir, among thousand other French words.
After 10 years in France I finally can correctly pronounce “feuille”. At this rate who knows what my correctly pronounced last words will be.
I can pronounce “les gros mots” (swear words) very well. The French usually find it funny with my tiny little accent “à couper à couteau” (cut with a knife). However… at a cocktail it would not be considered very elegant to espouse on the vitures of your neighbor’s mother.
Rosy, the other American in the “coin perdu” was a French teacher. She thinks I will succeed with my “oooooerrrr”. We will see.
