After reading Dedeene's post today about the burqa http://soyezlabienvenuechezmoi.blogspot.com/ I started delving into the "art" of slavery. Came across this amazing quote which really sums it up in ONE sentence. (yes, read it again, it is one sentence)

In many places, women chose to wear the Burqa because it is dangerous not to do so. The hostility in the culture around this decision is based in part because it is generally so dangerous to step out of line in the first place, for men and women. This goes far beyond the actual wearing of additional or different clothing.

If only human beings behaved in the way that the Marquis de Sade describes. I revolt passionately against anything/anyone that enslaves or abuses another living creature. I dont know anything about the M de S so I am now going to go and 'renseigne' myself...

The Marquis de Sade was a fascinating but complex man. The word sadist comes from his name. But I just feel he summed it up so well!
